The shortage of highly skilled forklift technicians continues to be an ongoing trend that presents significant hiring challenges to dealerships of all sizes. To combat this, many dealerships report that they have recruited automotive technicians into their industry or look for students who are in programs like hydraulics, diesel, and industrial maintenance because there is not a traditional forklift pathway for students. The Certified Forklift Technician (CFT) is the first industry-wide, fundamental certification available to all dealerships and schools to train, certify and promote great careers in forklift maintenance and repair.
