Membership Type Descriptions
Distributor/Integrator
A firm, corporation, partnership or individual that has operated its business independent from any manufacturer whose equipment it sells, and who has a contract or agreement with a manufacturer or material handling equipment for representation in a specific territory, or any firm, corporation, partnership, or individual operating a business independent from any manufacturer, and engaged primarily in the business of sales, servicing or renting new or used material handling equipment and has operated said business for a period of one year immediately prior to application. Distributors have voting power and may serve as an Officer or Director of the Association.
Factory Owned Branch
A factory-owned branch or retail outlet of manufacturers of material handling equipment and one who acts as an independent representative for manufacturers of material handling equipment and sells only to distributors not to end users.
Manufacturer/Supplier
A firm, corporation partnership or individual which has been engaged in the manufacture and sale of material handling equipment and has operated said business for a period of one year immediately prior to application.
Associate
A firm, corporation, partnership, sole proprietorship or individual whose activities and specialized services support the Association’s basic purposes and renders specialized services to the Association and/or its members and the industry they represent and has operated said business for a period of one year immediately prior to application.
