QUESTION Please explain the timing of the MVS Award Program.
ANSWER You can submit an application for the MVS Award at any time during the year but since it is an annual recognition program, current year status reflects the previous years’ activity. In other words, requirements must have been met in the current calendar year for recognition in the next year. For example, 2019 MVS status is based on activity in 2018.
QUESTION Do I need to re-apply for the MVS Award every year?
ANSWER Yes, MVS status is awarded each year based on activity in the previous year.
QUESTION Do I need to get a letter of recommendation from a distributor or can I use another letter they have written to complement our service or an employee?
ANSWER You need a letter of recommendation for the MVS Award from a current MHEDA member distributor each time you apply for the Award.
QUESTION How do I confirm my distributor is a current MHEDA member and therefore able to write a letter of recommendation for my company?
ANSWER You can check any company’s membership status via the MHEDA website at www.mheda.org in the Membership tab or call the MHEDA office at 847-680-3500.

QUESTION Who will see my application/letter of recommendation?
ANSWER Only the MHEDA staff sees the application and the letter of recommendation.
QUESTION Can I submit an accomplishment or activity that is NOT listed under one of the Five Areas of Excellence for consideration as criteria for MVS Status?
ANSWER Yes, please write a brief summary of the accomplishment or activity, including dates and which Area of Excellence you believe it fits under, and send to Kathy Cotter’s attention at MHEDA email@example.com so that the MHEDA Membership Committee can review it.
QUESTION Why do you need a list of my top 25 distributors and do I need to submit a new list each year?
ANSWER As part of MHEDA’s efforts to recognize your outstanding partnership with your dealers, MHEDA sends a personal letter to each distributor on your list to let them know they are working with an exceptional supplier. While we require you to send a new list each time you apply for the MVS Award, we recognize that many of the same distributors will be on the list from the previous year.
QUESTION Please explain the “Give Back” requirement.
ANSWER MHEDA has determined that active involvement in programs and activities that give back to your community are important to your employees and your distributor partners. Your participation must be active and go beyond financial support of a cause or organization.More About Give Back Program
