MHEDA Honor Scholarship Awards

 

MHEDA established a scholarship fund to further the awareness and recognition of the material handling industry within the academic community. Each year, it is awarded to a worthy student enrolled in an industrial distribution or related curriculum.

The goal of the scholarship program is to encourage choices upon graduation that will ultimately lead to careers within the industry and careers in teaching and research that will prepare the next generation of industry leaders.

2022 Scholarship Awardees

The $5,000 MHEDA Honor Scholarship has been awarded to Abigail Johnson of Auburn, AL. Abigail is a junior Supply Chain Management student at Auburn University. She is actively involved in Women in Business, Auburn’s Supply Chain Management Association and the APICS Student Chapter at Auburn.

Abigail has interned at Coyote Logistics where she gained valuable insights into the logistics industry and learned about the carrier sales process. She currently works as the Director of Social Media Marketing for Leslie Johnson, Sotheby’s International Realty.


The second $5,000 MHEDA Honor Scholarship has been awarded to Maiah Fallone of Rochester, NY. Maiah is a senior Industrial Engineering student at the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Maiah’s work experience includes internships at CooperVision where she managed the WIS program and project team that resulted in multiple lean, safety and ergonomic improvements. She also interned at Howmet Aerospace where she maintained CMM capabilities and designed, organized and implemented machine cell for efficient and ergonomic inspection processes.
