Loss of Industry Legend, Gregg Allen Bennett, Sr.

Gregg Allen Bennett, Sr. age 75 of Edina, unexpectedly passed away peacefully on July 17th with his loving wife of 54 years by his side.

Gregg graduated Edina High School in 1965 and the University of Minnesota in 1969. His love of family and Christian faith was his heart and soul.

In addition to family, friends and faith, his business of 57 years, Bennett Material Handling, was in many ways his life. Gregg was respected and liked by employees, vendors and customers. He was always straight forward, honest and treated everyone with dignity.

A memorial service was held on August 3rd at Lakewood Memorial Chapel in Minneapolis.

There are those special people that leave a big void in your life when they pass. The material handling industry just lost one of those individuals. Gregg Bennett, owner of Bennett Material Handling, Inc. in Hopkins, Minnesota passed away recently. Gregg has been a long standing Linde dealer and much more importantly — a fine gentleman and human being. He was a devoted family man, engaged community member, responsible business leader and dear friend to many. The person you could rely on when things gets dicey and the medicine is a good listener or a good laugh. We at KION North America are going to miss you Gregg! I’ll certainly miss Gregg, the history and economic lessons and of course …. the Sven, Ole & Lars jokes. Rest In Peace friend. - Rick Schiel, Director, Distribution Mgt at KION North America.
