It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steve O’Leary, former President and CEO of NITCO. The NITCO family lost its retired patriarch and the world lost a very special person.
Steve began his career with NITCO almost 52 years ago as a Territory Sales Representative and ultimately became an owner and leader. Words cannot adequately describe the incredible human being Steve was and the positive impact he had on NITCO and on the many lives he touched. Steve’s professional accomplishments were legendary and by many accounts, unparalleled. On behalf of our management team and employees, we extend our deepest sympathies to Steve’s family.
Steve retired in 2018 after the sale of NITCO to the Alta Equipment group, as it was of paramount importance to Steve to ensure the continuation of NITCO and our team.
Steve O’Leary was a rare breed, a person who found a way to motivate all he touched and possessed a strong moral compass that always pointed to ‘Do the right thing’. I first met Steve in 1987 when he welcomed me to the NITCO family and through the years he became my mentor, confidante and most importantly my dear friend. Without a doubt, Steve left this earth a better place, giving more than he ever took. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
