Gamber-Johnson, a leading supplier of rugged mounting systems for fleet vehicles, public safety vehicles, forklifts, and other mobility applications, announced today that it was successfully awarded a U.S. patent for its unique thermal tablet covers featuring innovative technology that allows tablets to stay warm and functioning in cross dock and freezer environments.
The Gamber-Johnson thermal tablet cover is a unique solution for users in warehouses and distribution centers that store and move frozen foods or utility companies that use vehicles in wet or freezing temperatures. The Gamber-Johnson thermal cover is designed to keep tablets warm and dry in even the harshest environments utilizing a protective cover, thermal pad heater and a connected thermostat that can safely regulate the temperature of the device during use.
Tom O’Brien, regional sales manager and credited innovator of the product stated that the new solution would allow companies to better incorporate technology into their fleets where they previously could not. “The thermal cover solution allows rugged and semi-rugged 8” and 10” tablets to be used in conditions where the device might see temperature extremes as a result of the cold. The thermal cover provides a consistent heat source to the device by sensing the outside ambient temperature as well as the interior temperature of the cover.”
This is Gamber-Johnson’s 33rd U.S. Patent. Vice president of engineering, Jason Lewandowski, stated the importance of patents to the company’s overall mission “A continuous flow of new products is key in supporting our strategic initiatives. At Gamber we emphasize continuous innovation and look for ways to protect our intellectual property, in doing so have been granted 63 patents throughout the world. “
Gamber-Johnson thermal covers are available in two sizes, 8” (20.3 cm) and 10” (25.4 cm), and are designed to fit popular tablets from manufactures like Getac, Panasonic, and Zebra. Easily pair this revolutionary product with other Gamber-Johnson products from their offering for a customized solution that is as rugged, as it is reliable.
