MHEDA Board of Directors
Help Guide MHEDA’s Strategic Direction
Serving on MHEDA’s Board of Directors gives Distributor and Integrator members an opportunity to represent the interests of fellow members and help shape the association’s strategic direction, programs and services. Directors may serve up to two consecutive two-year terms.
As a Board member, you can expect to:
- Attend two Board meetings each year and MHEDA’s Annual Convention
- Participate in assigned Convention activities
- Serve actively on one or more committees
- Support member recruitment and retention efforts
- Participate in conference calls, research and other committee work throughout the year
- Review meeting materials and fulfill governance and fiduciary responsibilities
- Respond to association requests in a timely manner
Directors serving their second two-year term may express interest in Executive Committee service, which requires an additional commitment of approximately six to seven years.
Travel & Expenses
Board members are responsible for their individual travel and lodging expenses. MHEDA covers scheduled group meals and activities during Board meetings.
Manufacturers Board of Advisors
Bring the Manufacturer Perspective to MHEDA Leadership
Serving on MHEDA’s Manufacturers Board of Advisors (MBOA) gives manufacturer members an opportunity to share their perspective, support MHEDA’s strategic direction and strengthen collaboration across the association. MBOA members serve in an advisory capacity without voting privileges on the Board and may serve up to two consecutive two-year terms.
As an MBOA member, you can expect to:
- Attend two Board meetings each year and MHEDA’s Annual Convention
- Participate in assigned Convention activities
- Serve on an MHEDA committee and participate in periodic conference calls
- Support member recruitment and retention efforts
- Review meeting materials and contribute your experience and expertise
- Respond to association requests in a timely manner
MBOA members are not eligible to serve on the Executive Committee.

MBOA members are responsible for their individual travel and lodging expenses. MHEDA covers scheduled group meals and activities during Board meetings.
Business Community Committees
Help Shape the Programs and Resources Serving Your Community
MHEDA’s Business Community Committees help shape strategic priorities and guide how MHEDA delivers education, networking, benchmarking, programs and resources for the businesses we serve. Committee members work closely with MHEDA’s Community Development Manager to share industry perspective, identify emerging needs and opportunities, and help ensure MHEDA continues to provide relevant value to each Community.

What to Expect
Committee service may vary based on the priorities of each Community, but members should generally anticipate:
- Quarterly virtual meetings
- One in-person meeting annually, which may coincide with another MHEDA event when possible
- Sharing experience, ideas and industry perspective
- Helping identify member needs, challenges and emerging opportunities
- Providing input on education, networking, resources and other Community initiatives
- Supporting additional projects or discussions as priorities arise
Committee service can be a great way to deepen your involvement with MHEDA, build relationships with peers and contribute your expertise without the governance responsibilities of Board service.

You don’t have to nominate yourself. If you know an industry professional whose experience and perspective would benefit MHEDA, recommend them for consideration for the Board of Directors, Manufacturers Board of Advisors or a Business Community Committee.
The form will ask for some basic information about the individual, your professional relationship and why you’re recommending them.
