Job descriptions and salary ranges are based on survey results taken from MHEDA's 2009 Employee Compensation Report using data provided by members of the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association.

 

Accountant/Bookkeeper - perform various accounting functions such as supporting month end financial closings, assisting with financial forecasting and budgeting and review of general ledger accounts.
Salary Range: 39K—50K
Branch Manager - responsible for: leadership, strategic and tactical business development, hiring, and motivating and training of employees, P&L management, time and productivity management, and the overall performance of the site. Develops and submits the annual operating budget, with the responsibility of implementing, executing and managing the plan. Facilitates internal and external opportunities and building relationships with customers.
Salary Range: 69K—126K
CAD Design Technician - responsible for preparation of proposal drawings, detail drawings and installation drawings.
Salary Range: 47K—61K
Controller - plans, directs, and manages all accounting operational functions including: preparation of financial analysis of operations and preparation of the interim and final financial statements.
Salary Range: 70K—94K
Customer Service Rep. - this position supports the aftermarket needs of the customer by recommending and providing required products and services.
Salary Range: 36K—70K
HR Generalist - administers HR duties including responsibilities in some or all of the following areas: employee relations, training, employment, litigation, affirmative action and employment equity programs, development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures and preparation and maintenance of employee handbook.
Salary Range: 32K—44K
HR Manager - manages variety of functions including responsibilities in some or all of the following areas: employee relations, training, employment, litigation, affirmative action and employment equity program, development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures and preparation of maintenance of employee handbook.
Salary Range: 50K—75K
IT Administration - maintains and supports computers, network servers and general network connectivity.
Salary Range: 39K—52K
IT Manager - responsible for analyzing and directing all IT related activities of the organization with supervisory responsibilities for all staff assigned to the IT Department through planning, technical leadership and project coordination.
Salary Range: 48K—75K
Parts Manager - responsible for the complete operation of the parts department, keeping inventories up to date, solving customer problems, reviewing stock orders and overseeing return of parts. This manager also maintains a working relationship with the service department and other departments, and makes every effort to increase sales and productivity.
Salary Range: 48K—67K
Parts Department Coordinator - this position is responsible for billing, invoicing, shipping, organization and selling of parts. He or she completes customer orders and out sources parts for other brands of lift trucks and equipment.
Salary Range: 28K—39K

Project Coordinator - responsible for advanced design tasks, organization of the drawing package, preparation of bills or material, requisition or procurement of certain equipment and services. Coordinator is responsible for the formal documentation of the completed project, including manuals.
Salary Range: 44K—63K

Project Manager - serves as central focal point on a given project from contract award through customer acceptance. Manages projects resources (internal and external) and has responsibility for project execution and integration, including budget and schedule.
Salary Range: 61K—85K
Rental Manager - this position is responsible for promoting rentals of forklifts and other material handling equipment, P&L success, fleet asset management, overall utilization and maintenance of the rental fleet, as well as the overall direction of the rental department.
Salary Range: 52K—77K
Sales Rep - responsible for generation of order activity to support the sales forecasts through prospecting, lead follow-up and market development.
Salary Range: 57K—82K
Sales Manager - responsible for market analysis, market penetration, and market plans. Supervises all Sales Representatives in promoting sales and achieving forecasts.
Salary Range: 76K—120K
Service Manager (Field) - responsible for the efficient and effective management of technicians and technical resources in support of customer requirements and departmental goals.
Salary Range: 57K—75K
Service Manager - this position supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repairing, servicing and maintaining material handling equipment such as forklifts and dock levelers. This position also diagnoses malfunctions, modifies programming of robot controllers and programmable controllers. This manager also estimates work hours, interprets specifications and blueprints, analyzes and resolves work problems.
Salary Range: 50K—65K
Technician (Starting) - this position maintains, trouble shoots and repairs a variety of material handling equipment at the customer's work site.
Salary Range: 31K—37K
Technician (Experienced) - this position maintains, trouble shoots and repairs a variety of sophisticated material handling equipment at the customer’s work site.
Salary Range: 47K—58K
Used Equipment Manager - this position is responsible for all used truck equipment purchases, inventory control, gross profit, off lease purchases and the evaluation of used equipment for category of resale. This manager also has the responsibility of marketing and selling used trucks and equipment.
