This webinar will cover the factors driving recent changes in the financial markets and the banking industry and how that has impacted commercial lending to mid-market, privately held distributors in the material handling industry. Participants will gain an understanding as to what they will face today in trying to secure business debt for working capital, line renewals, and leasing transactions.

Material will address, among other things, collateral requirements, rate options and restrictive covenants. Participants will learn how this ‘New Banking Reality’ may be also be affecting the business of its customers and suppliers and how it should be considered in these relationships in making credit decisions and reducing financial exposure.

About the Speakers

Scott C. Swanson is President, Charter One, Illinois. Charter One is a division of RBS Citizens, N.A., which is a subsidiary of Citizens Financial Group, Inc., a commercial bank holding company head- quartered in Providence, R.I. Scott is also a member of CFG’s Executive Leadership Group, the company’s senior leadership team. Swanson joined Charter One in 2007 following 17 years at JPMorgan Chase and its predecessors. He received his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, and graduated with a bachelor of science in finance from the University of Illinois.

Marc Paulhus is President, manages sales, marketing, credit and operations of RBS Asset Finance. Marc brings more than 20 years of specialized equipment finance industry knowledge to this position, including significant experience in sales, syndication, credit and management positions. Marc received his bachelor's degree in business administration from Providence College and his MBA Finance from the University of Rhode Island.

Tim Hilton is CEO of Carolina Handling, one of the largest Raymond Dealers in the US. He joined Carolina Handling in 1978 after a successful career within the banking industry, and subsequently purchased the material handling dealership in 1989. His company celebrates 17 consecutive years of recognition as a Raymond Dealer of Distinction. Tim has been actively involved with MHEDA for many years and served as its President in 2000. He has conducted seminars for MHEDA and other organizations, the most recent on Strategic Planning.
